Three Creative Date
Ideas You Probably Haven’t Thought Of
Dating never really gets boring, but
it can lose a bit of its luster over time. If the
guy you’re seeing is failing to excite you with his
date ideas (let’s face it, you can only do dinner
and a movie so many times), don’t just sit still and
let it happen. Take charge of the matter.
Here are some
date ideas
that you’ll both enjoy. Don’t feel shy about
making suggestions to him about what you want to do
on a date. The truth is that he’ll probably
appreciate the input. Not only will it save him the
stress associated with planning every evening you
spend together, but it will show him that you’re a
strong woman who’s not afraid to make sure she gets
what she wants.
Without further ado, here are
our top three creative date ideas:
1.
Wine Tasting
Even if you don’t live near a
winery that offers guided wine tastings, you can
still buy a few bottles of wine from around the
world, assemble a lunch of cheese, fresh fruit and
perhaps some bitter chocolate (all of which go well
with wine) and spend the afternoon sampling
different wines. If you’re adventurous, you can even
make the lunch a picnic and spend the afternoon in
nature. Just remember—drinking alcohol in public is
illegal in many places, so you’ll have to be
discrete about things.
2.
Do Childish Things
You’d be surprised at how fun
it can be to do the things you used to enjoy as a
kid. Push your date on a swing set. Fly a kite. Put
together a puzzle. Do whatever you used to love
doing, but haven’t done since elementary school. To
make the day even more special, you can eat peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches and drink chocolate
milk.
3.
Get an Early Start
Why do all dates have to be at
night? There’s no reason why you can’t get up early
on a weekend morning (we mean really early—like 5
a.m.) and head out for a hike. Try to end up on top
of a hill around the time the sun rises, so you can
sit back and enjoy the view. If you really want to
go all-out, bring a camping stove and some eggs and
bacon with you and enjoy a delicious breakfast in
the crisp morning air.
Keep in mind that, with dating,
what you do is less important than how you do it.
Even mundane chores can make memorable dates if you
go in with an open mind and allow yourself to have
fun. It’s a cliché, but it really is true that
attitude is everything.
Finally, we recommend not
allowing yourself to be tied down by traditional
ideas of what a date is. If there’s something that
you enjoy doing that isn’t a traditional date
activity, remind yourself that there’s no book of
rules about what constitutes a date. Be creative and
think outside the box.
