eHarmony is, without a doubt, one of the largest and most unique online dating sites. eHarmony has based its entire site on the theory that there are hundreds of dimensions form personality and compatibility between singles, and by cross analyzing dimensions, eHarmony creates highly compatible matches for you.
eHarmony, unlike most online dating sites, is not a dating site that encourages its members to pick their potential dates by what they see. eHarmony first has you fill out an extensive personality survey that can take about an hour to finish. The survey delves into all facets of your personality then uses your responses to cross match you with |

other eHarmony members. You are then presented only with profiles of other singles who are highly compatible to you. This process is designed to do a lot of the weeding out associated with dating for you. This creates not only a dating site that is highly focused on relationships versus a casual fling, but it weeds out 99% of those online dating site sharks who cruise the personals for a quickie because eHarmony won’t show you just anyone. Because of this extensive personality and relationship focused itinerary, eHarmony is much more likely to have relationship focused men within its e-walls than any other site.

The way eHarmony works is that after you sign up and fill out the in-depth personality profile, you are presented with new matches on a regular basis. These are singles that are highly compatible with you based on eHarmony’s personality algorithm.
As a paying member, you can request communication with any of your matches. If a match agrees then you are taken through a three step process before you can openly email them:
Step 1: Multiple Choice Questions. You select five personality/character/relationship oriented multiple choice questions from a predetermined list that is presented to the other person to answer. They do the same in return.
Step 2: You submit your Must Have and Must Have Nots list that shows your profile match the things that you "must have" in a partner (i.e. chemistry, loyalty) and things you "can't stand" in a partner (i.e. crude, bigoted, lazy).
Step 3: You submit three "open-ended" questions that the other single answers. You can select from a list of predetermined questions or write your own.
Step 4: After you both pass the final “quiz”, you are then able to freely communicate with the other person.
Now, eHarmony is the most expensive online dating site. However, if you are looking for a serious relationship, I feel that it is the best online dating site. You pay $49.95 for a month, 3 months are $99.95, 6 months is $159.95 and 1 Year is $299.95.
eHarmony also has another unique offering that no other online dating website has. They have this fantastic cd series by Dr. Neil Clark Warren that really helps you to understand your Own wants and needs when searching for a partner.
